Fire Bells And Tannoys

Fire Bells and Tannoys

The Fire Bell

Each firefighter living in the fire station houses would have one in their home that would ring when the alarm came through to the station and then the alarm would be sent to the on duty firefighters. Often firefighters not sleeping in one of the dorms could be seen racing across from the houses adjacent to the station wearing only their jimjams and within a flash they were charging out on their fire engines.

The speakers

These were around the Fire Station giving out tannoy announcements
