Mezuzah

Jewish Door Post Symbol.

Brought from Russia/ Poland in about 1870 by my Great Grandparents who settled in Leeds.

The Mezuzah is a piece of parchment on which is written the first two paragraphs of the Shema (Deuteronomy and Numbers). This is rolled up to the case and fixed to the right hand door post in the top third section.
