Statue from Papua
“This statue was given to me by my boss when I worked in Indonesia in 2011/2012. The statue is from the Indonesian provence of Papua and shows a man in traditional Papua dress, a koteka. This statue reminds me of how varied and diverse the world still is and how differently people live all over the world. Despite the globalisation and urbanisation of our planet, there are still pockets of the world that keep their traditions and cultures, which are so different to the west. Living in Indonesia reminded me that there are still these exciting places that remain unique and relatively unexplored.”
