Two Brass Camels & Photograph
During the Second World War my father enroled in the army and bought these two brass camels in Egypt around 1940. He carried them always with him in his kit bag until 1943, when he was made prisoner by the Germans in Italy and his camels were taken away. He was held prisoner in Germany until the end of the war, when he was released by the Allies and his camels were given back to him. On his return to England, he gave them as a present to his fiancee, my mother.
